When it comes to typography Alex Trochut is the first name that comes to my mind. He is a graphic designer and illustrator residing in Barcelona, Spain which is my future home too,(or madrid) yeah! Just wait.  He is one of my favorite artists and also one of my biggest inspirations. Before going into art school I didn’t know what a typographer was, I only knew what a topographer was because I was one ¬¬ but typography has quickly grown on me. Especially because I now see what can be done with the simple shapes forming a letter. Almost a year ago I sent him a msg via behance and told him that I was doing a presentation on our inspiration(s) and told him he was it. Honestly, I didn’t expect a response from him knowing that he is pretty busy with work. He responded by thanking me and supporting me and that he was happy to know that he was one of my inspirations.  He’s worked with big clients like Nike, Esquire Mag UK, and even The Rolling Stones the list keeps on going. Check out more of his works

A quick disco gem for you all before I go do some personal works. I’ve been looking for this track for months. I found it and I’ll share it with you.I love the rhythm and sound to it but I can’t make out the lyrics except when it says ‘you got my soul’ and ‘believe me when I say that your love’.If someone knows the lyrics hit me up.

nightriders

Spring break has officially begun for me and Nightriders just make me enjoy this loooong one week vacation even more. ‘This Love is Real’ by Nightriders takes me back to the days I used to go out every weekend to Vice City. Below are some tracks that they were nice enough to give out for us to enjoy. Show Nightriders some love on their myspace.

black-and-white-logos

Now these are some very clever logo designs, it’s the kind of design that once you see it, you ask yourself “why didn’t I think of that?” (slap to the head). I agree with most of the list. I found this post via ffffound which is one of the many websites where I go to find inspiration. Now I bring it to you. I was showing the logos to some colleagues of mine today and they were just stunned. Twins, octave, curious, and fit are my favorite. Click here and judge for yourself.

valerie-blog

If you haven’t checked out our ‘About’ section I recommend you do. It will give you an idea of what Blank Division is all about.

We launch our blog with a very special tribute to Valerie. An artist collective based in France. Dreamy and always romantic, they’re always on the lookout for new talent. They will soon celebrate their 2nd anniversary, I wish I could attend to their sets which I hear they’re pretty awesome. Valerie consists of Minitel Rose, Russ Chimes, Anoraak, Maethelvin, College, and The Outrunners. Many of their tracks have been at fault for making me dream a lot (good thing). I hope you can appreciate their talent as much as I do. Show the love…
